Job Title: Summer Support Staff
Incumbent:

Program Coordinator
Description:
The Summer Support Staff will work and live onsite from the last full
week of May until the last week of July with opportunity to work until
middle of August if desired. Staff will be given 2 days off every 2
weeks. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Camp Administrator
in multiple duties of the camp. Summer staff members will be required
to effectively communicate with Kitchen staff, Directors, Counselors,
and Campers. All job assignments will be given from the Camp Administrator
or the Kitchen Cook when working in the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Assist cook with kitchen assistant duties
Keep supplies organized and inform Camp Administrator when supplies
need to be replenished.
Provide organized activities for campers in areas of Arts and
Crafts, Archery, and Ropes course.
Maintain and staff camp store.
Monitor bathroom clean-up daily
Assist Camp Administrator / Program Coordinator with the organization
of bus departures and arrivals
Run errands as needed
Assist with unloading of service trucks such as Shamrock, E &
E, and other deliveries
Assist with hikes such as drive van, provide medical assistance,
etc.
Assist directors with any set up they may need for their programs
Assist Camp Administrator with various duties including but not
limited to mowing lawn, performing maintenance, and cleaning and repairing.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.
Must submit health history record and examination form prior to
first day of work.
Ability to interact with all age levels.
Completion of Archery Skills course (Montlure will provide training
if needed)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understand the development needs of youth.
Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill in program areas designated camp
program areas.
Able to work independently
Be energetic and enthusiastic
Requirement of the Position:
Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age
and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness,
enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and
apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness,
enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and
apply appropriate management techniques.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental
and other hazards related to the activity.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring
first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation,
illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain
constant supervision of campers.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Preferences
19 years or over
Experience as a Montlure camper or counselor
Experience as a youth leader in some capacity
Connection to a home Christian community preferred
